THE PRIVATE-PUBLIC SCREENINGS
The idea is simple – in february and march 2011, with the project AN ISLAND made with the band Efterklang, we experimented a new way to show the film – by letting people host their own screenings, where they wanted. The success was quite unexpected, and gave me the idea to continue to show my films in such a way.
From now on, you are welcome, through this page, to organize your own screening of ANY of my films, where you desire, when you want.
There is a few rules to follow:
- The screenings need to have free entrance
- The screenings need to be public.
- The screenings need to have a minimum capacity of 5 people
- The screenings need to be verified by Vincent Moon and only screenings that are featured on www.petitesplanetes.cc are official screenings
The screenings can take place in your home, at a café, in a school auditorium, in a bar, in the streets… Any place, really.
I hope you will enjoy seeing the films in such a way. You are welcome to pick any film i have made over the years, and not only the ones from Petites Planetes. You can even ask me for some unreleased ones – the complete list of films is on www.vincentmoon.com
HOW DOES IT WORK – TECHNICALLY SPEAKING?

You can download the films in good quality from there.
If you would like to use a DVD player to screen the film then you can burn a playable DVD using a DVD burner application.
You can either connect it to a projector or one of those modern TVs, or simply screen it on your computer´s screen.
My films very often contains MUSIC. So it will be better if you get a very good sound system – its often more important than the quality of the image.

Sign up to Host a PRIVATE-PUBLIC Screening
This is where you sign up to host a Private-Public Screening, but first we recommend you to read the rules and introduction on the left.
Once you submit your details we will verify them as fast as possible and we will notify you by email once the screening is announced on www.petitesplanetes.cc.
How do people attend?
The hosts of private-public screenings can invite friends and strangers to their private-public screenings any way they prefer.
In addition to this it will be possible for anyone to contact the host of a screening in the section on this site. Here people can request to be invited for a screening.
If you plan on hosting a screening in your home you have full control over who shows up. If you only have room for 5 people and you already know who these 5 people will be – then you can mark your screening as fully booked already when creating the event. It is also optional for you to decide if the street name and number of the screening is visible or not.
However, please remember that the private-public screenings are public. If space permits we encourage the host to welcome anyone who asks for an invitation. When there is no room for more guests the host can log in to www.petitesplanetes.cc and change the status of the screening to fully booked.
I will help spread the word about the private-public screenings via Twitter and Facebook. And you are of course encouraged to announce your event and spread the word via your social networks and personal websites if possible.
